Lebanese Chickpea Stew


1 pack Oddpods chickpeas

2 garlic cloves- peeled and grated

½ tsp cumin

1 tsp za’atar

1 bay leaf

½ tsp paprika

1tbsp tomato paste

1 pepper- cut into 1cm cubes

Parsley- chopped



  • Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a pan, once hot add the diced peppers, cook for 8 minutes until they start to soften
  • Add the cumin, garlic, paprika and tomato paste then stir for 1 minute
  • Add the Oddpods chickpeas, za’atar, bay leaf, 250ml water
  • Bring to the boil then lower the heat and leave to simmer for 15 minutes
  • To thicken the stew mash a few of the Oddpods when in the pan. If the mixture looks too dry add a splash of water. Season to taste with salt and pepper
  • Serve into your bowls and sprinkle over some parsley to finish
