Chicken and Chana Dal Curry


1 pack Oddpods Chana dal

2 large chicken thighs (boneless)

1 onion- thinly sliced

1 garlic clove- peeled and grated

1 red chilli- deseeded and sliced

½ tsp turmeric

½ tsp cumin

Tomatoes- small handful chopped

Coriander- finely chopped



  • Heat a drizzle of oil in a frying pan
  • Add the chicken thighs to the pan and cook for 6-8 minutes
  • Add the onions to the pan and cook for a further 4-5 minutes
  • Time to add in the garlic, half the red chilli, turmeric and cumin into the pan and mix well
  • Once all coated in the spices add your Oddpods and 250ml of water, bring to the boil and then reduce to a low heat before simmering for 15—20 minutes
  • Check the chicken is cooked all the way through and no pink bits remain
  • Serve into bowls and top with the remaining chilli and coriander. Enjoy!
